Teal Pumpkin Contest 2020
Teal Pumpkin Contest 2020
A fun Halloween contest in the name of food allergy awareness

Last year I held the "Teal Pumpkin Painting Party" at the Morgan Hill Library. This year, due to covid-19, I created the "Teal Pumpkin Painting Contest" to keep up the momentum!
Here's How it Works
Paint a pumpkin | submit a picture | vote
1. Paint a pumpkin teal
Please note this is currently only open to Santa Clara Residents this year
Pumpkins need to be three dimensional (3D) and primarily teal. Any size pumpkin is okay as long as they are not two dimensional, and plastic pumpkins are okay as long as they are painted by you.
2. Decorate your pumpkin and get creative
Creativity is encouraged! You may add glitter, stickers, bells, pipe cleaners, eyes, etc. to your pumpkin. Your pumpkin should be clearly teal and any additions shouldn't take away from that. This contest is inspired by the Teal Pumpkin Project, created by Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE). Teal is the official color of food allergy awareness, hence why the Teal Pumpkin project features teal pumpkins. This contest aims to bring support and awareness to the allergy community during the Halloween season. Plus, part of the beauty of the event last year was seeing how many different pumpkins the community was able to create given similar materials!
3. Take a picture of your pumpkin and turn it in by October 24th at 11:59 pm
Picture submissions will be accepted through the Google Form linked below. Pictures will be accepted between October 11, 2020, and October 24th, 2020 at 11:59 pm. The Google Form needs to be filled out fully in order for your submission to be complete. Please note that by submitting your photo, you are giving permission for Nut Free Mentality and the LCAC to post this picture online for voting purposes. Because of this, we ask that you avoid including faces in your picture submission and only photography the pumpkin itself. Multiple members of the same household can submit an entry if they submit a new Google Form submission per member.
4. All ages are welcomed, and submissions will be divided into 6 age groups
All ages are welcomed and encouraged to participate in this fun activity! Ages will be broken up into 6 groups:
